Lead generation website checklist: 12 things that make visitors enquire

Traffic without enquiries is the most common website complaint. This 12-point checklist covers the clarity, proof and friction fixes that turn visitors into leads, with examples.

A website that gets visitors but no enquiries is usually not a traffic problem. It is a clarity, trust or friction problem. This checklist is what we review on every client site before spending anything on ads or SEO.

Clarity

  1. The headline says what you do and for whom. "Websites and CRM for small businesses in Jharkhand" beats "Welcome to our world of solutions".
  2. The next step is obvious. One primary button, repeated on every screen: enquire, book, WhatsApp.
  3. Prices or starting prices are visible. Visitors leave when they cannot judge the budget. A "from" price qualifies them.
  4. Each service has its own page. Searchers land on the page that matches their need, not a generic list.

Trust

  1. Real photos. Your work, your team, your premises. Stock photos signal that there is nothing to show.
  2. Specific proof. Numbers, names, before-and-after, dated reviews. "Trusted by many" is not proof.
  3. A person. A name and face to contact. People enquire with people.
  4. Clear policies. Delivery, payment, refunds, data handling. Doubt kills enquiries quietly.

Friction

  1. A short form. Name, phone or email, and one question about the need. Everything else can be asked later.
  2. WhatsApp as an option. Many Indian customers will not fill a form but will send a message.
  3. Fast on mobile data. If the page takes five seconds on a basic phone, the visitor is gone.
  4. Confirmation and follow-up. The visitor sees that the enquiry was received and hears from a person within hours. The CRM makes sure of it.

How to use the checklist

Score each item as yes or no. Fix the "no" items in the order above: clarity first, then trust, then friction. Most sites move from one or two enquiries a week to several with clarity and friction fixes alone.

Frequently asked questions

Should the form be on every page?

A button to the form on every page, and the form itself on the contact section and each service page. Do not make visitors hunt.

Does a chatbot increase enquiries?

It can, when visitors have questions before they commit. For simple services a WhatsApp button does the same job at no cost.

How do I know which page is losing visitors?

Analytics shows pages with high exits. Read those pages on your phone as a stranger would, and the problem is usually visible.
